THE SUMMER OF “65”
This current summer I regrouped and recharged by becoming both a contract “online” relationship consultant and an “offline” contract chicken farmer which to me was an ACT OF FARMING (I am a farm boy after all). I am helping out my injured brother in law and best friend John Cummings of Shedden ( his and my home town).
This summer and early fall will only get better as we travel north to his and a friend’s cottage to do some “contract” “work” and closeup John’s cottage with family.
People talk about “finding themselves” and I have found it is truly about helping others and growing stronger bonds with existing good relationships built on trust and unconditional love for our fellow man.
I now know the true meaning of “finding yourself” in the insignificant things like feeding and watering chickens and enjoying the company of good friends and learning to laugh again…… At yourself.
I was LOST prior to this time in worry, doubt and unbelief and low self esteem and had lost faith in self through hardships that were mostly my own doing.
I find myself happy, content, and at peace in a world full of chaos, fear, judgement and evil.
This time has truly been a gift.
Feeding and watering John’s chickens, having a beer or two and laughing from the belly and out loud as we reflect on our wild youth together.
This precious time with John and an ACT of farming grounded me back to my roots in farming and brought me back from the brink of hopelessness.
I thank God and John who has retaught me to live life ALIVE!
I am truly Grateful
Your friend forever
